Hello! We are so excited that you have stopped to visit Textile Indie.

Are you a Textile Indie?

Do you see a beautiful piece of fabric and immediately start dreaming up a new project?

Do you smell clean sheep wool and get excited to start spinning?

Have you ever gone on a hike and seen a bush with beautifully colored branches and wondered what they would look like as a basket?

Do you get energized finishing creative projects (or maybe just starting them!)?

Are fabric, yarn, and craft stores your favorite places to shop?

Have you picked up a pair of chopsticks and thought, “I wonder what knitting with these would be like?”

Does your family complain about your stash of materials and craft supplies?

Do you walk through a clothing store and touch things as you go just to feel the different fabrics?

Do you want the best resources, tools, and products for fiber artists?

Every other Friday, I send an email chock full of fiber craft inspiration for you to explore.

Each issue focuses on one fiber art skill – spinning, dyeing, basket weaving…

What does Textile Indie mean?

Well, it means you enjoy textiles and fiber – the making, using, and the wearing.

You love to use your hands and brain to create beautiful and functional things.

You’re an individual with an aesthetic – a way of seeing and appreciating the world around you. You have unique passions, interests, and talents.

You are a Textile Indie.

How can we help you?

Do you wish you could spend more time making things?

Do you want to learn new skills or be challenged by new techniques in the realm of fiber and needlearts?

Have you ever wanted to try a craft that isn’t readily available at the local craft store?

The world is full of information.

Sometimes, it’s challenging to sort through all this information and still have time to do the things we love and learn the skills we want to try.

Here at Textile Indie, we want to help you get the information you need to start out in your textile adventures.

Join us on a journey of exploration and discovery in fibers and textiles. Let’s learn new things and dabble in new skills.

We are learning along with you. Textile Indie will share tutorials, how-to’s, projects, and lots of inspiration. We’ll also share the struggles, failures, and mistakes in a spirit of courage for the creative process.

Everyone is different; we don’t claim to have the best way or end-all techniques. We just want to share what we’ve learned and are learning.
