Our basket weaving courses offer a deep dive into the world of rattan basket weaving. Rattan reed, a material derived from a tropical vine, is transformed into various sizes and shapes to serve as our primary weaving material.

This colorful market basket is a fun twist on a traditional basket style. Called a market basket because of its classic use as a shopping basket, this style continues to be a popular basket shape. Take this beautiful basket to the farmers market, decorate your home, or give it as a gift basket. Using dyed reed, the weaver can play with color, size, and shape to create a unique pattern in the basket weave.

Built-in-Handle Storage Basket

This self-paced basketry course will teach you the skills and techniques to complete a Handled Storage Basket.

This basket features built-in handles and a twill weave structure. The design is based on old-style bushel baskets used at harvest time to collect produce from the orchard and garden. While the size of this basket is not “official: bushel basket size, a nod to garden harvesting is inherent to the design.
The handles make this basket a convenient storage solution. Make one or a dozen to solve your storage conundrums.

Hanging Vase Basket

Crazy Twill Storage Basket
